أعلنت وزارتا الثروات الطبيعية والكهرباء في إقليم كردستان العراق في بيان مشترك عن إيقاف تصدير الغاز الطبيعي من حقل كورمور إلى محطات إنتاج الكهرباء، بسبب الأوضاع غير الاعتيادية والتصعيد العسكري الذي شهدته المنطقة.
وأوضح بيان ن القرار جاء حرصا على سلامة العاملين في حقل كورمور.
وقال البيان إن شركة دانة غاز أوقفت الإمدادات بشكل مؤقت، ما أدى إلى انخفاض القدرة الإنتاجية للكهرباء بمقدار يتراوح بين 2500 و3000 ميغاواط.
وأكدت وزارة الكهرباء أنها تسعى للاعتماد على مصادر بديلة لإنتاج الطاقة، بهدف تقليل تأثير تراجع الإنتاج على المواطنين والمشتركين في إقليم كردستان.
ويُعد كورمور أكبر حقل للغاز الطبيعي في العراق، ويغذي نحو 67% من احتياجات إقليم كردستان من الكهرباء، بالإضافة إلى تصدير جزء منها إلى محافظات عراقية أخرى.
وتعرض مجمع كورمور -الذي يزود معظم محطات توليد الطاقة في كردستان العراق- لهجمات بطائرات مسيرة مرات عدة في السنوات الأخيرة.
