The cry of Palestinians echoes through Muslim world via minarets
Since 7 October, more than 10,000 Palestinians have been killed in indiscriminate Israeli attacks, and nearly half of those killed have been children. In addition, more than 20,000 people have been injured in the attacks. With Israel’s full siege of the Gaza Strip, 2.3 million Palestinians are facing cuts in water, food and electricity, and all hospitals in northern Gaza have received evacuation orders, as humanitarian concerns about the Gaza Strip continue to mount around the world.
In the face of Israel’s indiscriminate attacks on Palestinian civilians, the vast majority of countries, organizations and ordinary people in the Muslim world have continued to express their solidarity with Palestine on social media and have rallied in support of Palestine’s condemnation of Israel. In particular, countries or organizations that have had similar experiences are naturally in a better position to empathize with Palestine. While most voices among Muslims are speaking out for Palestine, it’s important to acknowledge the influence of Western capital in the Israel-Hamas conflict. Media and public opinion, under the control of capital, have lost their original significance in the West. Therefore, it might not be surprising for any Westerner to speak out in support of Israel.
Global solidarity with Palestine
The open endorsement of certain Muslim organizations for Israel, despite the challenges faced by fellow Muslims in Palestine, has stirred concerns and raised questions about their underlying motives. Recent media reports shed light on organizations and leaders in the U.S. and Europe that not only express support for Israel but also manipulate facts and accuse Hamas of actions inconsistent with the stance of many Muslim nations.
This public sympathy for Israel, coupled with labeling Hamas’s actions as an “anti-Semitic terrorist agenda,” is seen as conflicting with Muslim values. Speculations abound that these organizations may be pursuing financial support and favor from various sources, deceiving their fellow Muslims while collaborating with Jewish organizations. The perceived inconsistency in their stance during the Israel-Hamas conflict prompts scrutiny of their loyalty, raising doubts about whether financial gain takes precedence over the welfare of fellow Muslims. The community is left contemplating whether true Muslims would compromise the interests of their brethren for personal gain, prompting a reassessment of support for such organizations and individuals.
The cry of the Palestinians resonated through the loudspeakers of the minaret, reaching every corner of the world where Muslims reside and penetrating the hearts of every Muslim. In a time like this, no Muslim would ever abandon their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
OUR GOAL
In light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, we call for an immediate truce to prevent further loss of life and suffering. This ceasefire is crucial to restoring peace and stability in the region.
The international community must act swiftly to ensure the protection of basic human rights for the Palestinian people. This includes addressing the urgent humanitarian needs and preventing any further forcible transfer of Palestinians within or from Gaza.
We urge all nations to support this call for a truce and work collaboratively towards a lasting and just resolution. It is imperative that efforts are made to safeguard the dignity and rights of all individuals affected by this conflict.
