أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أن إيران طلبت اجتماعاً مع الولايات المتحدة، مؤكداً أنه سيعقد غداً (الثلاثاء) في الدوحة، وذلك، بعد أن اتفق البلدان على وقف الهجمات المتبادلة بعد عدة أيام من القصف والمواجهات في مضيق هرمز.
وجاء منشور ترمب على منصته «تروث سوشيال» مقتضباً، ليكتفي بالإعلان عن موعد اللقاء، بعد تقارير عن اجتماعات فنية بين الجانبين خلال أيام، لتنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم والتوصل لاتفاق نهائي لإنهاء الحرب.
وجدد ترمب في منشور آخر على إكس، اليوم (الإثنين)، التأكيد على أن إيران لن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً. وتحدث عن ارتفاع نسب تأييده قائلا: «أعلى نسب تأييد في استطلاعات الرأي على الإطلاق.. بل أعلى حتى من يوم الانتخابات، في الخامس من نوفمبر».
وأعلن متحدث باسم البيت الأبيضأن المحادثات الفنية مع إيران ستعقد على هامش المباحثات رفيعة المستوى في الدوحة، غدا الثلاثاء.وأفاد بأن المبعوثين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر سيحضران الاجتماع . وأضاف أن الرئيس ترمب يريد المضي في عملية السلام إلى نهايتها.
وكان مصدر مطلع قال لوكالة «رويترز» اليوم: «إن الفرق الفنية الإيرانية والأمريكية المكلفة بالعمل على تنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم ستجتمع في الدوحة خلال أيام».
وأضاف المصدر أن الوسطاء شكلوا قنوات اتصال لاحتواء أي حوادث محتملة وخفض التصعيد، مشيراً إلى أن المحادثات الفنية ستتواصل.
ونفت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية في وقت سابق التقارير الإعلامية الأمريكية التي تحدثت عن عقد اجتماع بين فرق فنية إيرانية وأمريكية خلال الأيام القادمة في قطر لمناقشة تنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم الرامية إلى وقف الحرب.
وأكد نائب وزير الخارجية كاظم غريب آبادي، «لا توجد اجتماعات فنية لمجموعات العمل مخطط لها هذا الأسبوع». ووصف المعلومات المتداولة بهذا الشأن بأنها معلومات «غير صحيحة»، وفق ما نقل التلفزيون الرسمي.
وكرر الرئيس الأمريكي مراراً خلال الفترة الماضية أن طهران لن تمتلك سلاحاً نوويا. وأكد أن أمريكا دمرت القدرات الإيرانية العسكرية. ولوح قبل يومين بالعودة إلى الخيار العسكري ضد إيران، إثر شن الجيش الأمريكي غارات على «10 مناطق إيرانية»، مستهدفاً ما قال إنها مواقع عسكرية ورادارات.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran requested a meeting with the United States, confirming that it will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) in Doha, after the two countries agreed to halt mutual attacks following several days of bombings and confrontations in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s post on his platform “Truth Social” was brief, merely announcing the meeting’s date, following reports of technical meetings between the two sides over the past few days to implement the memorandum of understanding and reach a final agreement to end the war.
In another post on X today (Monday), Trump reiterated that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons. He spoke about the increase in his approval ratings, saying: “The highest approval ratings ever in polls… even higher than on Election Day, November 5.”
A knowledgeable source told Reuters today: “The Iranian and American technical teams tasked with working on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding will meet in Doha in the coming days.”
The source added that the mediators have established channels of communication to contain any potential incidents and reduce escalation, noting that the technical discussions will continue.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry earlier denied U.S. media reports about a meeting between Iranian and American technical teams in the coming days in Qatar to discuss the implementation of the memorandum of understanding aimed at stopping the war.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharib Abadi confirmed, “There are no technical meetings for working groups planned for this week.” He described the circulating information on this matter as “incorrect,” according to state television.
The U.S. President has repeatedly stated in recent times that Tehran will not possess nuclear weapons. He confirmed that America has destroyed Iranian military capabilities. Two days ago, he hinted at the return to military options against Iran, following U.S. airstrikes on “10 Iranian locations,” targeting what he said were military sites and radar installations.
